What's New in TextAloud 2.1
TextAloud 2.1 changes several portions of TextAloud in hidden ways to
support unicode. For info on what unicode means, see
http://www.unicode.org/standard/WhatIsUnicode.html
These details aren't important, but basically this change allows TextAloud to
support a number of languages we haven't in the past. Specifically, you
will be able to use TextAloud with Russian, Japanese, Chinese, and Korean text
and voices. Details on trying this new version out are below. Please
send us email with any problems or questions you have during the process.
Getting TextAloud 2.1 beta
Download and install the latest build of TextAloud 2.1 beta from
http://nextup.com/files/tabeta.exe
Getting Free Voices
There are older free L&H Voices available for download from Microsoft in:

After installing the voice, be sure to restart TextAloud or
reboot, and also make sure you are set to use SAPI4 or Both for SAPI Version
under Options->Voice and File Options in TextAloud.
