Re: Is this a bug?

Thanks, Jim, I learned some things! I think the shortcut option will work best for me. Adding TA to WORD's Quick Access toolbar actually added the entire TA toolbar (in WORD 2013 anyway), so that just seems extra clicks to speak. I do wish you would consider making the WORD add-in ribbon customizabl...

Is this a bug?

I am working with a long WORD 2013 document (200,000+ words). When using TextAloud, I use the "Cursor" button on the WORD add-in toolbar to read specific parts of my document. However, when I accidentally hit the "Speak" button, it takes my cursor back to the very beginning of th...

Re: 4.0.2's new dictionary

Thanks Jim, I found the checkbox and this does work to solve my issue. Quick question though: if I maintain separate dictionaries and I have one dictionary per voice, TA4 will only use the dictionary I select, right? So if my article uses multiple or random voices, how do the other (separate) dictio...

4.0.2's new dictionary

Oh no no no! 4.0.2's new dictionary omits the ability to assign word/spelling/phonemes to a specific voice. In addition, it reset all my dictionary entries to just ONE voice! If this is in error, please fix this. If this is intentional, please bring back the ability to assign specific voices to spec...

Re: Testing updates to add-in for Microsoft Word

I tried this out and have to report that it works great. I was interested in this beta update of the Word add-in solely for the inclusion of the Dictionary button on the add-on toolbar. That is tremendously useful! Thanks. About the only thing I could suggest to make it better would be to add a righ...

Re: Purchased Salii. Have activation key. Need download links.

Dejay, I have the same program as you--Ivona Voice with Salli--which I have since replaced with TextAloud 3. I purchased my Ivona Voice at amazon.com. The good news is that IF you purchased yours at amazon, you can simply go to your amazon account page, then click "Games & Software" li...

Dictionary "Add" button grayed out

When using spell check, or just right clicking those words underlined with red, the "Add" button is grayed out so I can't add custom words to my spell check dictionary. My custom dictionary is selected as the dictionary source. I have options to "Ignore" and "Ignore All"...

Re: Word that are spelled the same

Thanks for your reply, Quantum. I was hoping there was some sort of automatic solution to this, but it looks like it's a manual job. :D I was able to find a partial solution, which is also manual, by using the PartsOfSpeech tag: <partofsp part="noun"> bow </partofsp> <partofsp part="v...

Word that are spelled the same

Hi, I'm pretty new to TextAloud and need some help with words that are spelled the same, but pronounced differently based on context. Two words in particular that I am having issues with are "read" and "bow." Read : (1) present tense, pronounced "reed", and (2) past ten...

Re: URGENT. Spell out one word slower and continue regularly

Hi, I am no expert, but have you checked to make sure your voices are SAPI5? Or set to SAPI5 in TextAloud? As I understand it, tags are only utilized by SAPI5 voices. There is another forum post about it here: http://nextup.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1694 Hope this helps. I'm a beginner, so apologies...
