Re: reactivation
Likewise I am having this same problem though I think it was caused by letting Norton remove viruses, etc. from my computer. My TextAloud is telling me that my trial period is up. I bought the program some years ago, unless I am badly fooled and I bought a couple of the Ivona voices - thus far I hav...

Re: Speech Error: XML parser (Error 80045042)
I now have the latest version of the software, however, the error still remains. You should now have a copy of the problem report from my computer. I submitted the report earlier today. I only have the error at the end of a sentence with a period or a question mark. Regie p.s. I put a space between...

Is there a way to make the pause very little or no pause at all?

Re: Speech Error: SSML input not valid
I made a post some minutes ago about having this problem. As best I discovered, I had gone into the Control Panel, Settings and had set up in Voice Rules, Speaking Rules, Voice Changes and had set it up such that parenthesis around a word or phrase would be read by a different voice. Today when I br...

Speech Error: SSML Input not valid, cannot find speak element
I have re-installed the whole program and still get this error. Cannot find speak element - what file would I look for to find speak element and in what folder & sub-folder should I look for?
Thanks,

Re: Bring dictionary over to a new computer?
I found mydictionary.chl on my old hard drive. I copied it over to my new TextAloud and it did not bring it up It was in some kind of appdata file on the old drive. I put it in the TextAloud folder on my new computer. Was that the wrong place. Maybe I should have copied it over to the same folder th...

Bring dictionary over to a new computer?
I have a new computer and got a new download of TextAloud and activation code. The problem I am having is that all the dictionary that I had on the old computer is not there. Is there a dictionary file and/or folder I can copy over from the old hard drive to my new computer and thereby regain my dic...

New computer but have not thus far been able to bring TextAloud over from it
I could probably get the ID from Mr. Bretti but my dictionary would be a great loss.
Mr. Jim Bretti - can you email me my ID to rhodesscholar39@gmail.com just in case I cannot get the program via a remote desktop connection?

Re: Conditionality
Due to your last reply, at last I came up with the best pronunciation. You got me on the right path for the best I could do. I likewise use the internet for word definitions and separations of words by syllables. (conditionality = kundishu'nality here in the South.

Re: Conditionality
Thanks for trying to help me out on this. I am almost 81 years old and I do not remember in the low grades in grammar school ever studying phonemes (however it is spelled) :) and I tried to find something on the internet that would help me but am giving up on it and settling for respell for conditio...

Conditionality
The best respell I have come up with is not good enough. I am using the Microsoft David voice and respelling it as condition'ali'tea but it just does not sound good enough. Any suggestions?

Re: Stopping - depth into document?
Let me just plow on with what I have at the time as I am ok now since I unchecked all the things in "Speaking Rules, Automatic Pauses" which were I guess default checks. All seems to be working well now and I am liking the new version 4.

Re: Stopping - depth into document?
Maybe I solved my problem. I guess time will tell. But, I went to the Settings, Speaking Rules, Automatic Pauses and cleared all the boxes there. Now it goes right on through it like it should.

Stopping - depth into document?
I have the latest version 4. At the present position in the text, it stops at the word "sin" (highlighted below) and breaks it into "s in" Sin wars against the soul; and wherever there is war, there is, more or less, disquietude: it cannot be without it. There is a war, an intest...

Re: Multiple pronunciations
TextAloud is great as it is, with the fact that you can leave the text as it is and TextAloud does the pronunciation as in the dictionary. When you do add this new feature, maybe the reading could just come to a halt until you choose the right pronunciation, and then move on. Another option perhaps ...

Re: Multiple pronunciations
Thanks much. I have been working on a solution and have been experimenting with Balabolka wherein I intend to remove all homograms from it except the words with more than one pronunciation. I plan to use that before I bring the article into TextAloud and thereby have all the multiple pronouncing wor...

Multiple pronunciations
I really like TextAloud for the dictionary and it's replacing pronunciation of words as you have them in the dictionary. However, some words, such as read, live and record, can have different pronunciations in a document. With Balabolka, I could set up both pronunciations by separating them with a c...
