Newbie seeking recommendations

New to forum and new to tts. I need a reader primarily for PDFs. I assume members of this forum are loyal to TextAloud.

However I am just starting to look for a tts program and thought I might save time by making this inquiry. Any features to look for? Other readers? I would like a clear American male voice.

Any input is highly appreciated. I realize this question is not real refined and I am sorry if this a dumb question.
