Error in TA

When trying to use Acapela 2.22 I get the following error, although the voices appear in TA 3.38

Speech error: access violation at address 04fd4f0c in module 'AcaTtsSapi.dll. Read of address 705c3a68

I uninstalled both programs and re-installed them, doing a clean up of the Registry file. Did not work. Any suggestions or comments?

Hi Peter,

It might help if I could see a TextAloud problem report. Please duplicate the error, then from the TextAloud menu click Help ->Support ->Report A Problem. Just reference this issue in the problem report text.

Thanks for getting back to me. The program is not generating a problem report. It stays blank.

I have 2 images of the error message but can't figure out how to attach them to this post.

I forgot to mention that I am running under Win 7 64 bit and had/have a previous version of Acapela working. However, the problem persists even when the other version of Acapela is not running and when it all its "old" voices were uninstalled.

Hi Peter,

I'm not sure what is happening with the problem report. Try duplicating the error, exit and restart TextAloud, then see if you are able to use Help -> Support -> Report A Problem.

If that doesn't work, click Help -> Open Data Folder from the TextAloud menu, and see if you are able to locate the following five files:

TextAloudMP3.elf
TextAloudMP3.dbg
TextAloudMP31.dbg
TextAloudMP32.dbg
TextAloudMP33.dbg

Please attach these files to an email and send them to me at jim@nextup.com

Also, please check the directory where you found the debug file, and see if the file TextAloudMP3.elf is there. If you find that file, please attach to your email, it would help.
