Problem with 'Edit => Replace'

Post by DaveH »

I sometimes use Edit => Replace for pre-processing text for homonym pronunciation and find a problem:

After completing 'Text to Find' and 'Replace With' then clicking 'Find Next' and 'Replace' I find that the target word has been deleted. After cancelling and making the correction by hand and setting it up again it works.

It would be good if this could be remedied. I find this utility really useful! :D

Thanks Dave, I think I see what is causing this problem. Should have it fixed in the next update, I'll post here when it is ready to download.

I just placed a TextAloud update at http://www.nextup.com/files/ta3.exe. When you have a chance would you please install the update? Let me know if this doesn't help with the Find/Replace problem you're having.

Thanks

Thanks Jim, that works nicely now.

There still seems to be a problem with the case sensitive option though:
When case sensitive is not ticked then 'Find Next' works but 'Replace' does not work correctly.

For example
Text to find: bow
Replace With: bo

Text: Bow and arrow. bow to me

Clicking Next highlights Bow but Replace changes bow to bo.
I of course want to replace Bow with Bo in order to get correct pronunciation.

Sorry about the problem Dave, I just placed another update at http://www.nextup.com/files/ta3.exe. Please give it a try and let me know if it doesn't fix the case sensitive option problem.
