Is there a link I can use to download and roll back to a previous version? I am encountering what appears to be a regression in the Voice Options where strange setting changes are occurring in voices when switching back and forth between SAPI 4 and SAPI 5 voices. I would like to roll back the machine I use to read the text and discussion boards for my class to me. (Then I can try to document the bug so you can reproduce it after I have finished my homework.) Thanks!

How far do you need to roll back? You can download TA 3.0.94 from https://s3.amazonaws.com/NextUpDownloads/TA3094.exe

Before downgrading, would you duplicate the problem in 3.0.95, and send a TextAloud problem report? Logs in the problem report may give me an idea of what the problem is. In the problem report text please give me more details on the problem you're seeing, along with steps I can try to duplicate the problem myself.

Jim,

Thank you for your rapid response, and please accept my apologies for a slow one. I ended up finding an archived copy of 3.092 which I reverted to. However, I did leave 3.0.95 on one of the two machines.(I purchased the license allowing me household use because I have it on two machines, one of which is attached to the television.

I think the easiest thing to do would be to make a really short Screencast-o-matic video showing what happens, then sharing that with you privately.

However, would you like me to update the other computer to 3.0.96 and attempt to duplicate it from the more recent update?

I really do appreciate your program. I use it mainly for my homework and proofreading work that is written. I cut and paste from Blackboard into TextAloud.

Thank you again for your response, and I will attempt to duplicate the bug so you can see it.

Regards!

It would probably be best to duplicate problem with the current version (3.0.96). You can download from http://nextup.com/files/ta3.exe. But no problem if it is easier to duplicate with 3.0.95

In addition to any screenshots, videos you send, please include the problem report I mentioned (Help -> Support -> Report A Problem). Very often the logs will have some clues. Just make a brief reference to this issue in the problem report text.

Thanks

Jim, please accept my apologies for taking so long to get back to you. What I did was to update to the latest version of TextAloud, 3.0.96.1, then used Screencastomatic to make a short one minute video showing how the settings in the voice options do not persist. Somehow, the sound did not come through, but it still shows what is happening. I put the unlisted video at this link: https://youtu.be/hWpHhwl4H34 I hope this helps!--Mark

Thanks for creating the video, I found the problem. This problem with the sliders on the voice options dialog should be fixed in TA version 3.0.97, you can download the latest build from http://nextup.com/files/ta3.exe. Let me know if you see the problem after updating.
