Testing new licensing code starting in Beta 35

Post by Jim Bretti »

New code for TextAloud licensing and trials
Starting with Beta 35, we are now testing out new code used to register/license TextAloud, and control TextAloud trial periods. So starting with Beta 35, when you start TextAloud a trial dialog will be displayed. The intent is to make sure the trial and licensing code is working. You can now purchase a TextAloud 4 upgrade if you'd like, but we do not mean to pressure you to purchase. In this special trial period, the trial code will run at every TextAloud startup, but the trial dialog will only be displayed every five days. The trial period (for the beta) currently will expire on January 31, 2018. If we are still running betas at that time the trial period will be automatically extended.

Once we start distributing release builds of TextAloud 4, the trial will revert to normal trial periods, with the trial dialog displayed at every startup.

You can get to the trial dialog at any time by clicking Help -> About on the TextAloud main window. If you are interested in purchasing a TextAloud 4 upgrade visit http://nextup.com/TextAloud/pricing.html

Keyboard shortcut reset
Installing Beta 35 will reset your keyboard shortcuts to default settings. The problem is that prior to Beta 35, TextAloud was using Ctrl + Left Arrow and Ctrl + Right Arrow as the default shortcuts to skip between sentences. This was as an error, those shortcuts are normally used in editors to skip between words. So in Beta 35, these shortcuts were reassigned, and new default shortcuts for skipping between sentences are Ctr + Alt + Left and Ctrl + Alt + Right.
