'To file' output volume has changed in version 3.0.115.1?

Post by monsbor »

Updated to version 3.0.115.1.
Now the volume of newly created audio files seems about 10-20% lower than before when created by pressing To file button. Has something changed in the program's conversion settings?

I cannot find an option to change the output volume of new files and voice options indicate 100% volume like it was earlier. I am not using any volume tags.

There have not been any changes in this area of the code lately. As you noted, the only TextAloud settings that should effect volume in your audio files is the voice volume assigned on the Voice Options panel, and volume tags in the text.

One thing you can look at .. check Audio Device Selection (under Tools -> Advanced Options). Make sure TextAloud is using the correct audio device. The default device is wave mapper, but if you happen to have multiple audio devices present, its possible an incorrect setting here may be causing the problem.

Are you noticing the decreased volume when listening to text spoken aloud as well? Another thing to check is if you notice the volume problem with all voices, or just specific voices.
