Text Aloud 4.0.38 will not work

I just downloaded 4.0,38 installed it, activated it, and it will not read. It hangs up either in the program itself or in MS Word. What should I do to get this program to work. It worked before but on an unregistered copy. That expired and I bought, downloaded the 4.0.38 installed it — now nothing works.

It will help if you can duplicate the issue in the TextAloud main window, then send a TextAloud problem report. Do whatever is needed to recover from the hangup, then from the main menu click Help -> Support -> Report A Problem. Just reference this issue briefly in the problem report text.

Hopefully the problem report will give me a better idea of what is happening.
