Reg Ex "Engine" ?? Which does Text Aloud Use?

I am looking for a Reg Ex generator, What is the "engine" (I guess) driving the TextAloud's Regex's like .NET , Perl 5 etc. Which freeware generators work for Text Aloud?? Someone help??

The regular expression engine used by TextAloud is compatible with Perl. I haven't looked at regular expression generators for a while, so can't help much there.
