Windows 8 Metro or Classic?

Hi everyone,

I thought it might be interesting and prudent to pose the following question: Would you prefer a future version of TextAloud to continue to have a classic desktop interface or do you think it could translate to the new Windows 8 Metro style look and feel?

I wonder if Embarcadero is going to update their IDE to allow developers to write code to the WinRT or to write for the new Metro interface. I've said in the past that I thought it would be a good idea if Textaloud adopted a more modern interface more at home in Windows 7 (with ribbons and jumplists) than Windows XP, but now Windows 8 provides a whole new set of challenges. Have you played with the dev preview at Nextup? Are you thinking about how to make TexttAloud fit with the new Windows 8 ecosystem?

Have a great day!

Ryan

Hi Ryan,

I installed the Windows 8 Preview this week. I don't have any answers for your questions yet, but we definitely have some things to look at. I did notice some problems with some our voice installers.

I need to do some checking on the metro interface.

I'll post something when I have more.
