If you need to move NextUp Talker to another computer, here are instructions on how to install on the new machine and copy over your predefined phrases.

On the original machine:
1. Start NextUp Talker
2. Click Help -> Open Data Folder
3. Make a copy of all the *.chl files in the data folder. Phrases.chl is the configuration file containing your predefined phrases, other configuration files include Abbreviations.chl, Conversations.chl, Export.chl, FilterOptions.chl, KeyMapping.chl and UserTranslations.chl

On the new machine:
1. Do a normal install of NextUp Talker. If you need an installer, you can download from http://www.nextup.com/download.html
2. Once Talker is installed on the new machine, click Help -> Open Data Folder.
3. At this point, exit NextUp Talker (File -> Exit), and leave the data folder open.
4. Copy the chl files from the original machine to the data folder on the new machine.

When you restart Talker on the new machine, your old predefined phrases should now be available. If you need help with this send us an email at support @nextup.com

Jim, this is great information. Thanks for posting.

It brings up a question, though, since the phrases.chl file contain the phrases in our program.... is it possible to share phrases with another user? For example, if someone developed a good 'tree of phrases' to be used when conducting various types of business over the phone (making an insurance claim, calling the doctor to make an appointment, calling emergency services, etc...) then those phrases could be shared with other users. They could be downloadable, maybe even devote a forum to contain various .chl files as well as being able to send them as an email attachment

That would make NextUp Talker much more useful.

There is not really a good way to do this now, basically there is not a way to import and export phrases. It would be a very nice feature to add in a future update.
