TA Error in Outlook 2010

Post by ricksd »

TA displays the following Error when I try to use it in Outlook 2010: Access violation at address 1901A7E8 in module 'TAFORO~1.DLL'. Read of address 00000000

TA works properly in Word 2010. Any ideas how to fix?

Thanks,
Doug

Hi Doug

First, see if reinstalling TextAloud helps. You can download the current TextAloud installer at http://www.nextup.com/files/ta3.exe.

If reinstalling does not help, please see the post at http://nextup.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=6091. Basically there is a utility you can download that will let you manually remove and restore toolbars, sometimes this will help with this kind of problem. The steps would go like this:
1. Exit Outlook if it is running
2. Run the utility and remove the Outlook toolbar
3. Run Outlook and verify that the TextAloud toolbar has been removed
4. Exit Outlook again
5. Run the utility and add the Outlook toolbar back.

If you still see the error at this point, try submitting a TextAloud error report by going to the main window and clicking Help -> Support -> Report A Problem. We've been having some problems lately with the problem reporting system that we're working on, so theres a chance the problem report will fail. In that case, click Help -> Open Data Folder, and locate these files:
TextAloudMP3.dbg
TextAloudMP3.elf
TAForOutlook.dbg

You should see multiple versions of dbg files, be sure to send the ones named exactly as above, (they''ll be the most recent versions). Attach these files to an email and send to me at jim@nextup.com
