Assigning Voices to a Dictionary

Post by PHenry1026 »

Greetings,

It would be nice to have a feature that assigns one dictionary to a particular voice even if that dictionary is currently turned-off.

Hi Percy

You should be able to assign voices to a dictionary when the dictionary is disabled. Do you mean you'd like to be able to assign a voice to a dictionary when the voice is disabled?

Let me know if I misunderstood.

Hi Jim,

I think I mean, I would like to be able to assign a voice to a dictionary even when the dictionary is disabled. (by this I mean that the voice would still use the dictionary even if it is disabled in the Pronunciation Dictionary Maintenance and the voice is enabled and currently active).

How do I assign a voice to a specific dictionary?

I think I understand now. You can always change the dictionary associations, regardless of whether or not the dictionary is enabled. But there is currently not a way for a voice to use a dictionary if it the dictionary is disabled.

We'll keep this in mind for future versions, it may actually tie in to some other enhancements we're looking at.
