TextAloud startup is very slow

The most common reason for TextAloud startup to be very slow is related to the number of articles loaded in TextAloud. If you're constantly adding articles to TextAloud, but never deleting, TextAloud startup will gradually get slower over time.

One easy way to deal with this problem is to manually move the TextAloud articles folder from your user profile, let TextAloud recreate the articles folder (with no articles), and use your old articles folder as a backup to restore articles you need. Here are instructions:

1. From the TextAloud menu, click Help -> Open Data Folder
2. Exit TextAloud, using File -> Exit, leaving the data folder open.
3. Move the folder named "Articles" out of the Data folder. For convenience, you can move the folder to your desktop.
4. Restart TextAloud. TextAloud will detect the Articles folder is missing, and recreate an empty folder.

You can now use File -> Open to restore articles from your old Articles folder. It is safe to delete the backup folder when you no longer need it.
